In a move that will likely set off a firestorm of protest and criticism, a new gun shop, Glock, has been selling a new version of the popular semi-automatic pistol to an unnamed buyer in the United States.
The new version is a 17-round magazine that has a capacity of 21 rounds, the company says on its website.
The gun is not an AR-15 or AR-style firearm, but the company claims to have made the new magazine to comply with the new federal law.
The company also says it does not sell magazines with a capacity greater than 18 rounds.
The 18-round Glock 17 is not on sale in the U.S., but the 18- round AR-17 is.
The 17- round Glock 17 was originally priced at $2,199.99, but has been reduced to $1,799.99 for now.
The National Rifle Association has already threatened legal action against Glock over the new product, calling it a “fraudulent attempt to evade the lawful sale and use of the firearm by anyone under 18 years old.”
A spokesperson for the NRA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The GLOCK magazine was originally manufactured in the 1980s and sold by Smith & Wesson, which was acquired by Glock in 2013.
The Glock 17 and AR-18 magazines are also made by Springfield Armory.
