A mystery woman who was killed after her car collided with a stationary train on the New Delhi-Haryana highway has been identified.

The 24-year-old woman, identified as Aruna, was travelling from Bhavnagar in Uttar Pradesh to her home in Chhapra, Delhi, when she lost control of her vehicle and collided with the train at a crossing at Srinagar, police said.

She was rushed to the city’s Jinnah Hospital where she died of her injuries on Monday evening.

She is the second person to be killed in the accident.

The first victim, an elderly woman, was rushed from the accident site to the nearby Kupwara hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

A senior police official said the driver of the car had been arrested.

The woman was identified from the body of a woman who died after her vehicle collided with another stationary train.

The train was travelling at around 25km/h.
